2024-2025
Impact Report

A Message from Our CEO

2024 marked six years continuing our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable New Yorkers.

We invested over $172 million in 2023 grants across our five program areas to support healthcare providers, schools, food banks, and other nonprofit organizations addressing critical community health needs and social determinants of health. Additionally, we awarded another $208 million for projects beginning in 2025.

A Foundation-funded report on nurse retention and recruitment inspired our new Nursing Initiative aimed at supporting nurses and enhancing health outcomes in safety-net hospitals.

We also celebrated a milestone of $1 billion in grantsĀ  benefiting youth and young adults, older adults, veterans, immigrants, new parents, justice involved individuals, people with disabilities, and other underserved populations.

Our dedicated staff engaged directly with communities, packing meals for seniors, celebrating the expansion of services with our grantees, and fostering new relationships and collaborations.

The true measure of our impact shines through inspiring stories like the three young New Yorkers featured in this report who overcame immense challenges with support from Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and our grantee partners.

Melany from East Harlem is aspiring to a healthcare career. Cai from Rochester found hope after living in foster care. Kaliope from Verona found her voice despite a developmental disability that affected her speech. You can read their stories below. These personal journeys and hopeful futures fuel our belief in the dignity of all people and inspire our commitment to bold, responsive investments for New York’s short- and long-term health and health-related needs.

Please join us in celebrating the commitments of our staff and grantees in ensuring a healthier and brighter future for New Yorkers in need.
